We can't replace humans when it comes to conversation, but AI definitely has its place. It's available anytime—whether it's late at night or right before a meeting—and it never gets tired.

What sets Tough Tongue AI apart? It can capture video input, giving you the opportunity to practice and receive feedback on your nonverbal cues—facial expressions, posture, gestures, and more. What can I use this for?

We see three main use cases patterns for Tough Tongue AI:

How can I use this for Professional Coaching?

Tough Tongue AI offers a new way to do professional coaching including leadership development. Our library has a set of scenarios that are designed for professional coaching. Some of them are:

  • Salary Negotiation
  • Performance Review
  • Giving and Receiving Feedback
  • Selling your ideas
  • Handling conflict at work

You can also create your a collection of custom scenarios for your firm. Tough Tongue AI is designed to work alongside traditional 1:1 coaching, giving you a handy, 24/7 resource—right when you need it, even minutes before an important meeting.

This can be good solution for: people managers, project leaders, individual contributors stepping into leadership roles, etc.

How can use screen share or get feedback on my body language?

The screen share and video option is available in the control tray. You can use to share these inputs with AI agent.

What is AI Counselling?

When you're preparing for MBA or doing a career pivot, the first step is often to understand your journey, strengths, weaknesses, and goals among other things.

This exercise often required sitting in front of paper, and trying to write down your thoughts, which can be quite lonely and hard. We have turned this into a conversational experience with AI interviewer.

We have created a collection of 10-min interactive AI counselling sessions each focusing on specific aspect of career counselling. Each session is a guided, thoughtful conversation with AI to understand your career path. Our goals here is to help you brainstorm, reflect, and ideate with AI interviewer and collect rich set of information along the way.

At the end of the career counselling session, you can run analysis and get a summary from AI on various helpful parameters. This in itself might not be the complete answer, but a good prep work before you meet coaches, peers, or mentors.

Tough Tongue AI is an experiment and free to use at this stage. We want to see how people use it, get back, and build a product that changes how we do tough conversations.

How to write good prompt for Scenario creation?

Scenario input decides three key things:

  • Role of the AI agent including tone it takes and how it behaves
  • The agenda of the conversation that AI agent will follow
  • Evaluation criteria for the conversation

We generally get questions on first two points. Here are some tips to create good prompts for AI agent role and agenda:

  • Recommend naming scenario as [Coach Name]:[Situation]. For example, "PM Interviewer: Analytics Question", "Dating Coach: First Date", and "MBA Interview: Kellogg School of Management". This helps AI agent to understand the context and behave accordingly.
  • Use "You are [Role]" to set the role of the AI agent. For example, "You are a PM Interview Coach helping candidates with analytics questions". Whenever possible, also give a tone: postive, abnoxious, humorous, skeptical, etc.
  • For agenda, you can add list of questions that AI agent will ask and how it should probe/follow up
  • It's generally good idea to give example based on the role and agenda. One easy way to do this is to add context: PDF document, link of blog post, youtube video link, etc. For example, if you found a nice interview blog or youtube video, you can use it as context for AI to behave in the conversation.

Third, is specific to interview scenario, where the scoring criteria is generally more clear. If no scoring criteria is provided, AI evlautes on general professionalism and communication skills.

How can I embed AI conversation experience in my app/website?

We provide an easy-to-use widget to embed the AI conversation experience into your app or website. This can be achieved with just a few lines of code in a matter of minutes.

Why did my session got disconnected?

We limit the conversation length to based on token consumed (typically 10-12 min). This is a temporary limitation, and we're working on extending it in a cost-effective manner. In some case, when you use video, the token consumption is higher and hence conversation length is lower.

That said, you can restore it and continue from where you left off by visiting the session analysis page. Just click the restore button, and the AI will resume the conversation right from where it was interrupted. Learn more in the "Can I restore a disconnected session?" section below.

Do you offer an option to switch languages?

You can now set your preferred language directly from the settings page. This new feature allows you to:

  1. Navigate to the settings page
  2. Select the "Language" tab (default tab)
  3. Enable the "AI language assistance" toggle
  4. Choose your preferred language from the dropdown menu

Once set, the AI will automatically respond in your selected language during all conversations. This setting is saved to your account and will persist across all sessions.

You can also still ask the AI to switch languages during a session by simply requesting it in your conversation. However, using the settings page ensures consistent language use across all your interactions.

Note for Scenario Creators: When creating your own scenarios, we recommend specifying language requirements directly in your scenario prompt or temporarily disabling the language assistance feature for more predictable AI responses.

My audio is not working. What can I do?

If you're experiencing audio issues, please follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the library page and attempt to start a scenario from there. This will display a pre-check screen showing which permissions are available or missing.
  2. If microphone access is denied:
    • Chrome: Click the lock/camera icon in the address bar (top left) to manage site permissions
    • Safari: Click Safari in the top menu bar, then Preferences/Settings > Websites (top menu) > Microphone (left menu). Find our website in the list and select "Allow" from the dropdown menu
    • Firefox: Click the permission icon in the address bar

How can I delete my session data?

You can delete all your session data, including recordings, associated metadata, and analysis using the delete button on the session analysis page.

When you delete a session, all data related to that session will be permanently removed from our servers, giving you complete control over your privacy.

Can I restore a disconnected session?

If your session gets disconnected for any reason (internet issues, token limits, etc.), you can restore it and continue from where you left off. This feature is available on the session analysis page.

By clicking the restore button, the AI will resume the conversation right from where it was interrupted, allowing you to:

  • Continue sessions that exceeded the token limit
  • Resume sessions that were disconnected due to internet issues
  • Effectively have longer conversations by breaking them into segments

  • Conversation Duration: Limited to 10-12 minutes per session (based on token consumption)
  • Use Chrome browser for best experience. We test and ensure you have the best experience on Chrome. Recording has issues on Safari.
